In my opinion, it’s a fairly solid golf watch but there are better options out there in the same price range. I’m not saying it’s a bad watch or anything like that but I did prefer others slightly because they had more features. The WTX+ is pretty accurate and simple to use but I’d like to see it have stat tracking and a scorecard. There were also some negatives that made me like other options a lot more.

The pairing with the smartphone for updates is a good step forward, but it could maybe offer a little more golf stats or information via on the app to justify the higher price. You do get the feeling that the GolfBuddy WTX is the first step in their smartwatch journey, so things should only get better, but there are already many other GPS watches that are further down the road doing more for less.

An impressive piece of innovation from GolfBuddy. The GolfBuddy WTX Watch offers a view of the hole from above and distances to every hazard as well as the green. The colour screen looks great and the extra smart-watch functionality makes this good value for money at £199.
