Overall the Garmin Approach S42 is a solid GPS golf watch. It’s relatively affordable at $299, and is a good middle ground if you want something more feature-heavy than the base S12, but you’re not looking for all of the day-to-day features of the S62. I’ve always been impressed by Garmin as a brand, and the S42 is no different.
